The people behind Fortify
Decades of experience in financial crime, data science, and enterprise technology – brought together to build the tools the industry has always needed.

Built by people who've done the job
A team of fraud fighters, data scientists, engineers, and operators who've spent careers inside the financial crime problem – and know what it takes to solve it.

Karthik has spent over a decade building fraud prevention systems for global banks, airlines, and payment networks. As COO of Featurespace, he led the development of real-time fraud detection technology that protects over 50 billion transactions a year. With a PhD in Electrical and Information Engineering from Cambridge University, Karthik brings an unparalleled combination of technical mastery, strategic vision, and real-world financial services experience.

Julia brings broad experience across technology, sales, project management, and design – giving her a deep understanding of what Fortify needs to grow strategically and sustainably. She’s driven to build a company where people thrive: united by purpose, proud of their impact, and excited to shape the future of fraud prevention. Julia leads our GTM function – ensuring we deliver meaningful, reliable outcomes for our customers in the fight against fraud.

Tom brings deep expertise in data science, fraud modelling, and product strategy. He’s led global teams at Featurespace and Mastercard, delivering world-first solutions in AML, crypto, and scam detection. From model design to product delivery, he turns advanced technologies into tools that help customers move faster, make smarter decisions, and stay ahead of evolving threats.

With over 20 years in software engineering, Alistair has innovated at companies from startups to multinationals. At Featurespace, he built their in-house model definition tech, used in real-time fraud solutions around the world. Based in Cambridge, his expertise also spans search and quantitative finance - with a focus on performance, precision, and solving complex data challenges at scale.

With global experience from education to fintech, Calandra is full-stack marketer who knows how to build momentum. She’s championing Fortify’s mission – arming fraud teams with the clarity, confidence, and tools to act fast. And driving how we show up, tell our story, and bring together a community of people solving fraud differently – and more effectively.

Andres brings deep expertise in fraud prevention, AML, and customer success. He’s led commercial and operations teams at fintechs and global enterprises including Featurespace, ConnexPay, and SAP Concur. With experience across the US, Latin America, and Europe, he helps turn complex fraud challenges into practical solutions that deliver ROI.

With degrees in Physics and a Master's in Artificial Intelligence, Michael has spent close to a decade in data science, increasingly specialising in fraud and money laundering detection. He builds scalable machine learning solutions and has led model deployments into production for major financial institutions, including Australia's preeminent card payment facilitator. Underpinning it all is a simple conviction: great technology should feel effortless, built to empower the people who use it rather than battle them.

With over 20 years building platforms that solve complex data management and processing problems, Douglas has moved between scientific research, engineering and finance. Before joining Fortify he was Director of Engineering at Featurespace (acquired by Visa), where he developed and operated the ARIC SaaS platform for fraud and financial crime prevention. Earlier, he held senior engineering roles at MathWorks and Harvard Medical School, and spent close to a decade at the University of Oxford developing scientific research platforms and software. What connects it all, for Douglas, is a pull towards domains with complex underlying data, from biomedical imaging to financial crime, and the engineering challenge of making sense of it reliably at scale.

Pippa has spent a decade scaling high-growth technology businesses, working closely with executive teams from early stage through institutional investment. She began her career as a lawyer in the Magic Circle, building the grounding in M&A, governance and regulatory work that now shapes how she builds resilient, well-run companies. Pippa brings that combination of operational breadth and legal rigour to Fortify.
